Yoga Therapy
for Self-Healing
Because Living a More Peaceful Life is Your Birthright.
If you’re struggling with the effects of trauma or mental health challenges, you might feel disconnected, stuck, or overwhelmed. These feelings are natural responses to difficult experiences—but they don’t define you, and they don’t have to last forever.
Yoga therapy offers a way to reconnect with yourself—to rediscover the wholeness that has always been within you, even in moments of struggle. Rooted in self-compassion and non-judgment, this approach meets you exactly where you are, using yoga’s adaptable tools to support healing in body, mind, and spirit.
Together, we’ll create a practice that helps you feel more grounded, at ease, and aligned with the life you want to live.

Living life to the fullest is hard when you are weighed down by the past and stuck in survival mode.
Many clients cite the following common refrains: 'I just can't handle stress like I used to.' 'I'm tired all of the time.' 'I cannot give myself grace.' 'I don't feel safe or calm anywhere.'
I'm here to help.
Lauren Albarella, Certified Yoga Therapist, Cincinnati, OH
Navigating the relentless currents of stress and exhaustion on the trauma recovery journey is overwhelming. Maybe you feel like you can't ever really rest or relax. Maybe you feel a perpetual level of fear and hesitation you can't shake. It isn't your fault. Trauma's impact on the entire human system is significant and wide-ranging.
In our sessions together, we’ll use the tools of yoga—movement, breathwork, mindfulness, and meditation—to gently peel back the layers of stress, overwhelm, or past experiences that may be clouding your sense of self. This is a supportive and deeply personal process tailored to your unique needs, whether you’re navigating trauma, chronic pain, mental health challenges, or simply feeling stuck.
My approach is rooted in the perspective of non-duality (Advaita)—the understanding that we are all interconnected and that beneath life’s struggles lies a steady, unchanging part of you that is whole and at peace. Together, we’ll work to help you reconnect with that sense of completeness, bringing more balance, ease, and clarity to your life.

What is Yoga Therapy?

Lauren will use Yoga Therapy tools such as physical postures, breathwork, meditation, sound practices and other mindfulness techniques curated to your individual needs.
Why Yoga Therapy?
Yoga Therapy (YT) using the healing power of an ancient practice to build resilience in the body. When we have resiliency, we can tap into our innate ability to heal. Therefore, YT can be used to help manage a lot of different conditions.
How is this possible?
There are very few healing modalities that consider all layers of being human and are so highly customized. If you incorporate these practices into your life you will gain resilience. YT rebuilds resiliency layer by layer within the human experience. You will be given practices that help to balance your entire being. This is beyond the physical poses most of us know from our yoga classes.
This is why it works.
In YT we use a much broader range of practices–thousands of years old and supported by modern science–to facilitate healing. These tools are curated for YOU as an individual, working step-by-step through each layer of being.
The Layers of Being (Human)

How is your physical/energetic and mental state of being?
-
Can you move without pain?
-
Do you have joint mobility and freedom?
-
Is your muscular strength even and balanced?
-
Do you have steady energy throughout the day?
-
Do you breathe and move with ease?
-
Are you thinking clearly?
-
Do you feel calm and emotionally balanced?
-
Can you be in the present moment?
Get more 'yeses' for your health!
Answering yes to all of these questions may seem like a tall order, and it is. But we can use yogic tools to address imbalances in each of these areas, to get more 'yeses' than 'no's', creating better full body balance and ease suffering.
